Anyone planning a wedding with African-American elements may want to have Queens: Potraits of Black Women and Their Fabulous Hair (Doubleday, $29.95), by Michael Cunningham and George Alexander, a good source of ideas for bridal hairstyles. This book shows Ghanian styles such as Bolga and Dadaba braids along with styles that are more familiar in the U.S. such as the Afro and the pageboy.
