Many well-known authors moonlight as book reviewers. But until now none has won recognition in both the annual Delete Key Awards competition for the year’s worst writing in books and the weekly Gusher Awards contest for hyperbole in book reviewing. Tomorrow on One-Minute Book Reviews, a Delete Key finalist goes home with Gusher for the first time.

Thank you both for leaving comments during a week when I’ve been, at different times, waterlogged and without electricity …
It didn’t occur to me that any of the Delete Key Awards finalists would ever get a Gusher because some of them, like Danielle Steel, don’t review. But I stumbled across a finalist’s review while looking for something else …

At the risk of sounding like a hyperbolic gusher, may I comment that both your enormous output and high level of quality here are, in a word, stunning.
And to think you achieve this while waterlogged and without electricity…

You may smile when you see tomorrow’s post. Your “there are no words” comment is the most eerily prophetic that I’ve had since starting this site. People are going to think either that you hacked my “Drafts” queue or that I am leaking posts to you …
