The Lost Symbol is no Bible. But, sometimes we lose site of what the "truths" of the books we read really are about. That's more important to me than how the words are arranged. Hope is an amazing message. I rediscovered my hope by discovering Dr. Ron Paul and his encouragement to rediscover the founding fathers.
Interestingly the cover artwork of this novel is different in Australia (from what I've seen), so resemblance to "The Secret" is nil. As for the reference to the "massive sex organ" and your belief that this is gratuitous, it is the only sexual reference I recall in the book and for the reader, it gave us insight to the fact that the villain was a very fit, very large character, tatooed allover (including that body part) and as for it's size, it may well have had more to do with the fact that the fella had taken steroids (earlier referenced in the book) as well as other drugs, which can affect the size of various body parts! Further, it had once been the source of his "carnal pleasure" but as he had his testicles removed (as we'd been told earlier in the book), he no longer had that urge. I found this story didn't hook me in as quickly as The Da Vinci Code, but hard to put down once into it. It has given me lots of questions in my own mind about various things but I found the ending a bit rushed and unrealistic as far as our heroes (and their recoveries of various ailments) went. Still, a pretty good read & recommend it.

You're right, and there are similar sentiments expressed in Old Testament prophesies. What I was getting at is that Rhonda Byrne also uses quotes from many great teachers and spiritual leaders to support her points.

To me that's one of the problems with both The Secret and The Lost Symbol: They use the Bible and other religious texts for their own purposes. But I didn't say that as directly as you did and appreciate your giving me a chance to expand on my review. Thanks so much for your comment.

What you write: "On the next-to-last page, Brown writes, “Nothing is hidden that will not be made known; nothing is secret that will not come to light.” Rhonda Byrne couldn’t have said it better."
