Do you know about Diane McWhorter&#039;s Pulitzer Prize-winning book on growing up in Birmingham at the dawn of the civil-rights era, &lt;em&gt;Carry Me Home?&lt;/em&gt; I haven&#039;t read it but know her work, and she&#039;s a wonderful writer who who knows how to put personal experiences in a broad political context.]]></description>
