Could it be that anything looks good next to Stephenie Meyer’s “Twilight” vampire series? I haven’t read that series, but her The Host was awful.

Even Stephen King — who under normal circumstances is exceptionally kind to his fellow authors — made a public statement recently about how bad Meyer’s books are. Let’s hope this isn’t a case of “a receding tide lowers all boats.”
