He just picks out a couple interesting bits, so you don’t get a rehash of everything you might have heard in an English lit class.

That’s why it’s a little mystifying that he punted on “The Tyger.” In a way, though, it’s refreshing to hear a critic admit: I just don’t have anything new to say on this one. It’s typical of the admirable lack of pretense in this book.
