I love them and have kept an eye on them for years. Did you know that “Middlesex” was on a short list? (I wonder if Oprah did?) “The Manny” would definitely be a contender if it were more literary.

Thanks so much for letting people know about the awards (given by the Literary Review in the U.K.). No problem with the link. The judges for the awards seem to use some of the same kind of discretion I have to use on this site. They give you enough information to suggest how bad the sex scenes are but not so much that newspapers couldn’t print samples from work of the finalists.
