Does ‘The Secret’ Work? Day 6 of 30-Day Test

Day 6
Is the Universe a slow-payer? Still have not received word from agent that Random House, Simon & Schuster etc. are practically clawing each other for right to bid seven figures for a) as yet-unwritten third novel or b) mass-market paperback rights to earlier novels.

Also have not had official confirmation that DreamWorks or other major film company plans to offer similar amount for movie rights for witty and charming romantic comedies, The Accidental Bride and Manhattan on the Rocks. Maybe producers were at Kentucky Derby parties over the weekend? Or writing sympathy notes to Paris Hilton?

Lisa Nichols, “a powerful advocate of personal empowerment,” says in The Secret that when you don’t get what you want right away, you should tell yourself, “I know that it’s on the way.” So this morning I repeated 10 times, “I know the movie deal is on the way.” Can’t wait until tomorrow’s mail arrives!

Requested from Universe on May 1: $1,000,000
Received so far: $825 (hard labor) + $58 (lottery) = $883
Universe owes me (according to The Secret): $999,117 (at a minimum)

    You have company!
Emily Yoffe (from Slate.com) just posted an article on her two month trial of the secret!

  2. Thanks for the heads-up. I didn’t know about Yoffee’s test. Wonder if she’s having better luck than I am?
