Dare I admit it? I have watched the VIDEO of either the "Idiot's" or "Dummies" guide to golf. All I remember of it are golf jokes such as this one, often used after a bad swing: "At least, you're dressing better." (Well, the authors think it's funny ...) Maybe that golf video is our next frontier?

I have steered clear of the parenting books...so far. (Let's just say we are *winging* it.) Here's my problem with the "X of Dummies" series. I would just HATE to have someone know a subject in more detail because they read a 'Dummy' series...and I had not.
I won't buy them, but I'll read them. I know..silly pride.

I'm currently reading the "The Idiots Guide to Golf". :)
Kids, I can wing it...now GOLF...well now...
Gotta start somewhere I guess.

Laura: "Parenting for Crash Test Dummies" is a great title for a parody. These series have inspired a couple of parodies that found publishers. So maybe if you're looking for extra cash ...?

Tom: Isn't "moron" a great word? You can use it in almost any sentence and make people smile. I have no idea why. It's just inherently funny. And our current climate of political sensitivity has made it even funnier. So many people are hesitant to use it that now when you do, it seems even funnier than in the past.

If the “Dummies” and “Idiot’s” guides patronize you, they’re up front about it in a way that Wolf’s book isn’t. You know just by looking at their titles that their authors assume you’re a moron.

LOL
