Who wrote worse last year, Mitch Albom or Thomas Harris? Danielle Steel or Claire Messud? Dr. Phil or the authors of The Power of Nice?
The short list for the Delete Key Awards for the year’s worst writing in books was posted on Feb. 28 on One-Minute Book Reviews. And you have until March 14 to weigh in with your views – pro or con – of the finalists. The best comments will be posted when the winner is announced on March 15.
The finalists are: Mitch Albom’s For One More Day, Elizabeth Berg’s The Handmaid and the Carpenter, Thomas Harris’s Hannibal Rising, Diana Loevy’s, The Book Club Companion, Claire Messud’s The Emperor’s Children, James McGreevey’s The Confession (with David France), Dr. Phil McGraw’s Love Smart, Terry McMillan’s The Interruption of Everything, Danielle Steel’s Toxic Bachelors, and Linda Kaplan Thaler and Robin Koval’s The Power of Nice.
Each book received a separate post on Feb. 28 that included a sample of its writing, and you can find a full review any of the finalists by using the “Search” box on this site to search for the title.
