Use the searchable online database at One-Minute Book Reviews to find books in your favorite category — biography, memoirs, novels, poetry and more …
Many literary blogs are full of publishing industry news, gossip, and trends. One-Minute Book Review is the rare site that consists of just reviews in almost every category and searchable online database that lets you search for books by author, title, or category. Unique aspects of the blog include:
– its annual Delete Key Awards, which recognize the year’s worst writing in books (with the finalists announced in February and the winner on March 15)
– its Totally Unauthorized Reading Group Guides, coming in February 2007, which tell you things you won’t find in publishers’ guides
– Backscratching in Our Time, a category devoted to authors who blurb each other books
– its Gift Guides in December and at other appropriate times
All reviews are written by Janice Harayda, an award-winning journalist and former book columnist for Glamour, book editor of The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer, and vice-president of the National Book Critics Circle. A new review appears almost every day with reviews of books for children and teenagers on Saturdays.
To avoid missing these reviews, please bookmark One-Minute Book Reviews, subbscribe to the RSS feed, or check back before heading for the bookstore or library. Check the “Praise” page to see what others are saying about the blog.
