Totally Unauthorized Reading Group Guides … Coming This Month to One-Minute Book Reviews

Filed under: Totally Unauthorized Reading Group Guides — 1minutebookreviewswordpresscom @ 4:54 pm

Questions that publishers never raise about the books your club is reading …

Are you frustrated that publishers so rarely offer reading group guides to certain kinds of books, such as hardcover nonfiction? That some guides seem designed mainly to convince you how great a book is even if critics dislike it? Or that — let’s face it — a lot of guides are just dull, lacking in insight, or published too late to do your book club any good?

Watch for Janice Harayda’s Totally Unauthorized Reading Group Guides, coming this month to One-Minute Book Reviews. These reading groups guides are designed to fill the gaps in guides issued by publishers or by sites that depend on advertising from them to survive. They tell you things publishers don’t want you to know or just don’t have the time or money to make available to you.

To avoid missing these guides, please bookmark www.oneminutebookreviews.wordpress.com or subscribe to the RSS Feed. And why not forward this post to other book club members who might also enjoy the guides?

One-Minute Book Reviews is an independent book-review blog created by Janice Harayda, who has been the book columnist for Glamour, the book editor of The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer, and a vice-president of the National Book Critics Circle. It does not accept free books or other promotional materials from publishers.
