		<description><![CDATA[If you&#039;ve eaten lard-friend cornmeal mush, this novel might be even less interesting to you than to others because, strangely enough, the more interesting passages (at least to those of us who didn&#039;t grow up in the South) involve regional customs, such as eating lard-fried cornmeal mush. This delicacy appears more than once in the novel. If you do read &quot;Thirteen Moons,&quot; I&#039;d love to have your comments here.  I wonder if Frazier gets the lard-frying techniques right?]]></description>
